SERVICES WE PROVIDE INCLUDE:

Tree Trimming & Pruning

Tree trimming and pruning is the most common type of tree maintenance and is required to maintain a tree’s structural integrity, aesthetic appearance and overall health. It is our job to have an understanding of tree biology, as improper pruning can create lasting damage and affect the tree’s life span. Common reasons for pruning are to:

Remove all dead, dying and diseased limbs to encourage growth rejuvenation

Remove dead or dying Palm fronds and/or fruit clusters such as coconuts that may act as missiles in a storm

Remove hazardous branches that could fall and harm structures or pedestrians

Correct or repair storm damaged trees or trees that have been previously incorrectly pruned

Elevate the tree’s canopy to provide clearance for buildings, vehicles, pedestrians and vistas

Interior prune to increase light penetration for the landscape below and or air penetration to the tree’s crown to reduce damage from high winds

Remove hazardous branches that could fall and harm structures or pedestrians

Crown reduction to reduce the overall size of the tree, improve the view, or provide utility line clearance. This should not be confused with topping or “hat-racking” which is one of the most harmful pruning practices. These techniques are not used by Certified Arborists.

Let us help you with your tree trimming. Our team of tree trimming experts and certified arborists have the technical skills, experience, and equipment to get the job done efficiently and safely. Don't risk injury and pain by doing your tree trimming job yourself - give us a call instead.

Tree Removal

Community Tree & Landscape Service has been removing trees safely and efficiently since 1989. Tree removal may appear straight forward and simple, but it’s actually very technical and often complex, requiring the expertise of trained and qualified professionals. Mistakes can be costly so make sure the arborist you choose is qualified.

It could be time to remove a tree when the following signs are visible:

Threat to buildings, driveways, roads, or utility wires-think wrong tree, wrong place

Root decay or signs of fungi such as mushrooms growing at the base

Improper pruning techniques that has sent the tree in decline

Changes to the bark such as patches of fungal masses

Cavities or cracks in the trunk

Dead or dying limbs

Community Tree & Landscape Service specializes in the removal of dangerous trees in confined areas as well as large hazardous trees. We have all the right equipment (chippers, bucket trucks, grapple trucks, loaders, cranes and more) to get the job done safely and efficiently and always provide thorough cleanup and debris disposal with minimal impact. If you have a tree that you feel needs to be removed, give us a call or fill out the contact form on this site to schedule your free estimate and consultation where we will evaluate the tree and lay out the options that are available. Each tree is different and needs to be personally seen for a full evaluation.

Storm Prep & Emergency Tree Services

If you have lived in Florida for any length of time you know we are vulnerable to hurricanes and tropical storms every year. These along with our typical summer afternoon storms can be quite strong with heavy rains and powerful winds, often causing extensive damage to landscapes. But you can easily make your trees more storm-resistant, so they are less likely to suffer damage during a major storm.

Correct pruning is a critical part in helping trees survive strong storms. Our team of experts is ready and available to help with the evaluation and preparation of your trees for storm season. It is important to prepare your trees prior to a storm approaching. They should be interior pruned so wind can freely pass through causing less wind resistance and reduce the chance of them blowing over. Dead, decaying or weak limbs which can fall on homes, cars or people should be removed and canopies reduced in trees that are gaining too much height. Trees that are towering over homes or are too close and pose a risk of damage to the home should be considered for removal. Coconuts and large seed pods should also be removed from Palm trees as they can act as missiles in high winds. Taking these proactive steps to maintain your trees will reduce the amount of damage and cleanup after the storm.

Once the storm passes, leave the cleanup to professionals. Our crews are trained and equipped to handle dangerous cleanup and removals. We have over 30 years experience as emergency disaster responders and have worked all over the southeast United States helping with storm cleanup. Give us a call or fill out the contact form on this site to schedule your free estimate and consultation where we will gladly offer our expert advice. We look forward to working with you!

Palm & Hardwood Tree Disease, Diagnosis & Treatments

Community Tree & Landscape Service has a team that are experts in diagnosing the many

diseases and viruses that can occur in all trees, both Hardwood and Palm trees.

Hardwood or deciduous trees can be harmed or killed by disease-causing organisms called

pathogens.

The most common tree diseases are caused by fungi. Fungi lack chlorophyll and derive nourishment by feeding on trees. Many fungi are microscopic but some are visible in the form of mushrooms or conks.  Also, some tree diseases are caused by bacteria and viruses. Our Florida Palm trees are under attack by a fatal disease called lethal bronzing which is caused by a small plant-hopping insect. The insects spread bacteria to the tree’s base clogging the circulatory system making it impossible for the tree's cells to get sufficient nutrients and sugars, thus starving them.

We provide professional diagnosis and treatment of insect and tree diseases. Give us a call and we will be happy to help with the diagnosis of any issues your trees may be experiencing.

Are you in need of having a plot of land cleared of all trees and brush for development? Or maybe you’ve just acquired a piece of property that has overgrown landscape and is in dire need of cleanup. Stump Grinding

After you have had a tree removed, Community Tree & Landscape Service can provide stump grinding services. Stumps can be an eyesore and pose a tripping hazard. Stump grinding is the proper method for stump removal and should only be handled by an expert, as utilities lines often go unseen below the surface. If utility lines are suspected, then a line check will need to be initiated which we will gladly handle for you.

A stump grinder is a powerful machine with a rotating blade that will penetrate deep below the ground’s service by approximately 8 inches grinding the stump into small wood chips. The generated mulch can then be hauled away, distributed throughout your garden or left in the hole where the stump was. Our team of experts always leave the area clean and graded so sod can then be laid over the area. Give us a call or fill out the contact form on this site to schedule your free estimate and consultation where we will gladly offer our expert advice. We look forward to working with you!
